25% growth in daily production of raw steel in China in February

China's major steel businesses reported average production growth of 24.38 per cent year-on-year in February, figures from the local National Iron and Steel Association show, Radio China reported.
Leading steel plants produced 22.82 million tonnes of untreated steel in mid-February.

Daily production of cast iron increased by 17% year-on-year over the same period, while that of rolled steel by 25.3% on an annual basis.

The sharp jump in daily production is mainly due to the increasing demand inside the country, the association informed.
