Albania suspends all commercial flights

Albania will suspend all commercial flights to and from the country from midnight, with its national airline carrier Air Albania allowed to fly only to Turkey and operate humanitarian flights, according to the government and the airport operator, Reuters reported.
The government has already cut off all air and sea ties with Italy, which is currently the hardest hit by the new coronavirus country. About 400,000 Albanians live in Italy, from where Albania's first infected with the coronavirus arrived two weeks ago, along with 120,000 other returning Albanians, BTA reported.

There are already 76 cases of coronavirus in Albania and the disease has claimed the lives of two people.

Tirana International Airport said it will continue to serve humanitarian and cargo flights, as well as flights to pick up passengers in the country.
