Black Sea gas field to be developed by Turkish company TPAO

Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez said the operator of the newly opened Black Sea gas field would be Turkey's state-owned company TPAO, Reuters reported.
“In the coming period, we will do seismic surveys and drilling ourselves. The operation will be carried out entirely by the company TPAO, "the minister said last night.

Dönmez also said there could be an international tender for the construction of a gas pipeline to transport natural gas to shore, BTA reports.

Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey has found a 320 billion cubic metres of natural gas in the Black Sea, the largest amount ever found in the country's history.

The locality was found during a drill on 20 July carried out by the ship “Fatih” in the Tuna-1 zone near the Turkish Zonguldak district
