Business is not spooked by the third wave, optimistic is

The third wave of the pandemic and the subsequent restrictive measures in March, it seems, have not spooked the business because the business climate in the country continues to improve, this time by 2.1 points compared to February, reports the NSI monitoring of the business conjuncture.
This uptrend has continued for a third month now, before January 2021 for several months the index was falling. Its bottom was reached in April and May, and at the moment it is approaching the average for the last ten years indicator.

In March the strongest influence on the index was the construction, where it rose by 3.8 points. Entrepreneurs are reporting a rise in new orders and forecasts for the next few months are favourable. In industry the increase was by 2.1 percentage points, in retail trade by 1.7 and in services - by 2.7 percentage points.

Producer prices, considered an early harbinger of inflation, rose by 1.3% in February compared to the previous month and by 3.1% compared to the same month of 2020. This increase is mainly due to the growth of the prices of basic metals, which is 29.9% year-on-year and is mainly due to the international situation. In the production of chemical products, the annual price growth was 4.8% and food by 3.7%.
