China's stock market attracted over 1.5 million new investors in September

Approximately 1.54 million investors in China opened shares trading accounts on Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges in September, recent figures show.
The number has grown by over 60% on the same period last year, figures from China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (CSDC) show, Radio China reported.

The majority of new investors are individuals, numbering around 1,538 million, while institutional investors are close to 3600.

By the end of September, the number of investors with trading accounts for A-shares was nearly 174 million, the data showed.
