From 1 January 2020 until 30 August this year, ESO reported electricity production of 27,052 247 MWh. By comparison, in the same period of 2019, production amounted to 29,497,995 MWh.
Consumption in the country decreased by 4.04 percent for the period 01.01.2020 - 30.08.2020 compared to 01.01.2019 - 30.08.2019, ESO statistics also show. From the beginning of 2020 to 30 August 24,497,054 MWh, while for the analogous period of 2019 - 25,528,210 MWh.
ESO also reported a decrease in electricity exports by 15.33 percent. For the period 01.01.2020 - 30.08.2020 Bulgaria exported 5 120 660 MWh of electricity, while for the analogous period of 2019 - 6 047 844 MWh. On the other hand, the electricity imports in Bulgaria increased by 23.45 per cent for that period. From the beginning of this year until August 30, our country imported 2,565 467 MWh of electricity, while for the same period last year - 2,078 059 MWh, according to ESO statistics.
Increase in the participation of RES in the transmission network by 13.14 percent, as well as in the distribution network by 7.58 percent, more from ESO reported. The biggest contribution to this is to wind power plants.
There is a decrease in the share of electricity from the plants by 3.38 per cent for the period 01.01.2020 - 30.08.2020 compared to 01.01.2019 - 30.08.2019, ESO data also show.
