Europe's food supply chain comes under increasing pressure

The bitter truth is that it is in these circumstances that capacity in the supply chain will be tested by COVID-19. As the pandemic deepens in Europe, Bo Zhou, chief executive of specialist supply chain software FuturMaster, shares his experience. According to him, everything that seems normal every day becomes completely impossible during the pandemic.
Europe's food supply chain is under increasing pressure. For one thing, manufacturers and retailers are struggling to meet the sudden spike in demand. On the other hand, they could face new restrictions on transport and distribution designed to stop the spread of the disease.

While the European Commission has introduced measures - special “corridors” designed to ensure the passage of food trucks between Member States, food industry associations have reported delays at borders, which mainly affect fresh food.

Furthermore, there should be a shortage of manpower and forced shutdown of factories, alarms by the European food industry associations

Bo Zhou also informed that already many of the company's customers in Europe are worried about the impact on their corridors for deliveries.
