EWRC with an important proposal for the price of heating

Due to the amendments to the terms of the contract with the Russian company Gazprom Export, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEWR/) proposes a 40.49 per cent reduction in the price of natural gas in Bulgaria from 1 April — from 44.04 to 26.21 BGN per megawatt hour, according to Trud.
Therefore, EWRC proposes to lower the prices of the country's steam and hot water by between 8 and 25 percent from 1 April. This shows the preliminary EWRC estimates, which will be discussed at an open meeting on March 26, the regulator said.

EWRC's proposal is that the cost of heat energy in Sofia will be cheaper by 25.14 percent. In Plovdiv is offered a decrease in price by 14.8 percent, in Burgas by 16.4 percent, in Varna by 7.8 percent, in Vratsa by 21.3 percent, in Veliko Tarnovo - by 16.6 percent, in Razgrad - with 16 percent.

The Energy Act has not yet been changed and this prevents EWRC from setting prices retroactively, the regulator specified.
