Facebook Against Coronavirus, Removes Fake News

Facebook is helping the World Health Organization (WHO) gratuitously post messages about the coronavirus situation free of charge and removing false information about the disease, the company's head, Mark Zuckerberg, said as quoted by BGNES.
Zuckerberg stressed that if a user searches on the social network for something related to the coronavirus, they will receive a message forwarding it to the WHO site or on the page of the territorial health authority. Thus, he will be able to get up-to-date information about the disease. If the user is in a country where the WHO has registered the transmission of the virus from person to person, they will also see this information in Facebook's news column.

The social network works with the ministries of health of different countries and organizations such as WHO, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and UNICEF to obtain timely and accurate information about coronavirus.

“We provide WHO with the opportunity to post as many free messages as they need to respond to the coronavirus,” Zuckerberg said. The network also provides support to other organisations and global health experts.

The social network removes the spread of “false and harmful information,” world conspiracy theories, as well as advertisements on products promising to cure the disease.
