Facebook will prioritize first-hand source information

The social network Facebook will prioritize information based on a first-hand source and written by identified journalists. This said in a statement from the social network, which is trying to make a purge of misinformation and misleading content, the France Press reported.
“As of today, we are updating the way news is arranged in our news section News feed to climb up authentic reporting and articles published in a transparent way,” Facebook said in a statement.

When different articles are published for the same news, an algorithm will detect the one most frequently cited as the source of the information and make it appear at the top, BTA notes.

Facebook makes it clear, however, that it's a matter of personal choice what users read and most of the information that people see on their News Feed comes from sources that they follow or from sources that their friends follow and that won't change.
