Amazon's French affiliate apparently did not pay due attention to its obligations to employee health and safety, according to the judges.
The company's assessment of the risks of COVID-19 was inadequate, magistrates decided after a complaint by the unions. The court ordered Amazon to conduct a risk assessment at all its warehouses in France and to introduce all necessary measures for the health and safety of employees in cooperation with their representatives, BTA reported.
Until this is done, the company must stop all activities in the warehouses except for the acceptance of goods and the processing and distribution of orders for food, hygienic medical materials.
