Mariyana Nikolova: 6.7% is unemployment in tourism sector

Minister Mariyana Nikolova assured that she is constantly in communication with the restaurant industry. Tomorrow there is an official meeting with representatives of the Association of Restaurateurs.
Proposals are yet to be discussed with the National Operations Headquarters after analysing the situation with the numbers infected. Among them are the work of the establishments at 50%, as well as work for preliminary reservations, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova told the Bulgarian National Television.

Offerings apply to restaurants, nightlife establishments have not yet been held such conversations, Nikolova specified.

Unemployment rates in the tourism sector are 6.7%. There is an increase in unemployment, with the most affected in the hospitality sector, the minister said.

Tourists are increasingly looking for individual bookings and small accommodations. The winter season is enjoyed by small hotels, small accommodations, which are 100% occupied. Serious occupancy is also reported in SPA resorts. In terms of the winter season, bookings are between 35 and 40%, Nikolova explained.

In the hotel and restaurant services, the most successful measure is 60:40, which has been transformed into 80/20 for the sector, said the Minister. Over a billion and 200 million have been paid out, of which about 720 million have reached the business directly. The government has made a clear request for the extension of that measure until March 31.
