Financial and business news from Bulgaria

Minister Angelkova stopped tourism until 13 May

The Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova issued a new order to stop tourism until 13 May inclusive - the organized tourist trips of Bulgarian citizens abroad, the organized trips of foreign citizens in Bulgaria, as well as all organized tourist visits from domestic tourism. Organised visits constituting additional tourist services within the meaning of the Tourism Act have also been suspended.
The new document is based on the extended state of emergency for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria until the same date due to the global distribution of COVID-19.

The new order of the Minister of Tourism is implementing the measures of state institutions to limit the pandemic and to preserve people's lives and health. For us, this is a paramount task and I appeal to all business representatives, local authorities and tourists to strictly comply with the requirements in order to reduce the spread of the virus. Only with responsible behaviour can we contribute to the limitation of the danger and with joint efforts to bring the time of recovery of the trips and the normal operation of the tourist companies and sites closer, Minister Angelkova commented.
