Minister Nikolova: Cultural tourism turns Bulgaria into a year-round destination

Cultural tourism combined with archaeology and festivals contribute to the transformation of Bulgaria into a year-round destination. Promoting the country as a place for travel in 4 seasons is basically my job. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova during a working visit to the late Antiquity Fortress Tsari Mali town, the Department said.
More than 1,260 million tourists have visited the site since its opening 6 years ago, the landmark management informed. Advantage of the place is the proximity to the capital and one of the leading winter resorts - Borovets. This makes the attraction a preferred destination in the region of Southwest Bulgaria, the Minister commented. An opera festival on the tourist site will be held on the settled days of the month and the first week of September. This is being done for a first year, with it expected to contribute to attracting more trips to the area.

Within the framework of the working visit in the Belchin Deputy Prime Minister Nikolova inspects one of the accommodation facilities in the area. The Minister personally made sure that all measures and instructions of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health for safe operation were observed at the site. It is extremely important to strictly follow all the prescriptions and ensure the health and security of the guests, stressed the Deputy Prime Minister. And emphasizes that the control in this direction will be strict and uncompromising.
