"It is important to start preparing for the season with the highlighting of possible difficulties and identifying specific measures to ensure the health and security of the visitors and the calm course of the summer. As you can see, the government of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov continues to actively assist the industries that most strongly feel the negative effects of the spread of the coronavirus”, Minister Nikolova said. She added that vaccination is of utmost importance, which will enable us to exit the current anti-epidemic measures more quickly. We expect this to have a direct positive impact on the upcoming summer season, she said.

Minister Nikolova recalled that at its regular meeting this Wednesday the Council of Ministers decided to provide additional BGN 40 million from the Operational Programme “Human Resources Development”, with which the measure for preservation of employment in tourism and transport will be secured by the end of March conditions of a pandemic. “This is the programme with which we support the “Hotel and Restaurant Services”, “Tourism” and “Transport” sectors. Until now, an additional BGN 40 million has been invested under the anti-crisis measure, now, with an increase in the budget, the programme will be able to continue to apply until the end of March. Under this measure, in the affected sectors, the government has helped 1785 employers and self-employed workers so far. More than 26,000 jobs have been preserved,” Nikolova said.

Mayor Dimitar Nikolov expressed his satisfaction for the forthcoming opening of a tourist representation in Poland, as Polish tourists are of utmost importance for the region. I hope this year will be better than the previous one and with the government's flexible policy there will be more interest from tour operators and tourists alike, he was quoted as saying.
