Nikolova in front of the Russian Ambassador: Bulgaria is ready to welcome its guests from Russia

Bulgaria is ready to welcome its guests from Russia as a safe tourist destination. I believe that the border between our countries will open soon and Russian tourists will visit our country already during the current summer tourist season. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariyana Nikolova during her meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria H. E. Eleonora Mitrofanova. This was reported by the Ministry of Tourism.
Minister Nikolova explained that the Ministry of Tourism is in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and the possibilities to open the border between the two countries for travel are being explored. I hope that once this happens, flights to Bulgaria for 2021 will again enter the plans of Russian air carriers, she clarified.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured the Ambassador that the Ministry of Tourism will continue to work towards Bulgaria to be realized more and more successfully as a year-round tourist destination on the Russian market. In normal conditions, our country accepts over 450,000 Russian citizens annually.





In her words, in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial to continue cooperation between the two countries. He added that together with the local health authorities all necessary measures in Bulgarian resorts and tourist destinations for the safe course of the tourist seasons in the country are being implemented.

In turn N. E. Eleonora Mitrofanova expressed her satisfaction with the meeting. I am very glad that I have the opportunity to work in Bulgaria - a people that are very close to us, she said. And he added that for Russian tourists it will be a great joy the fact that the summer season in Bulgaria will be opened from May 1. In her words, it is extremely important that Russian tourists have accurate and complete information on how the tourist activity in Bulgaria will be carried out and under what measures.
