Data published today by the State Development and Reform Commission show that 12,406 freight trains have departed between China and Europe for 2020, which is 7.3 times the number for 2016 and the value of goods transported has reached USD 50 billion.
Commission Secretary-General Zhao Chengsin said that last year trains between China and Europe reached 92 cities from 21 countries, 37 more year-on-year or 67% growth.
Over 10,000 freight trains have shipped goods between China and Europe for 2020.
In 2020, regular freight trains between China and Europe saw an increase globally, which has played an important role in stabilizing international supply chains and industries, as well as in the joint fight against the China-Europe pandemic, Radio China reports.
