“With this 125 million leva, a total of BGN 305 million is given from the money of Bulgarian taxpayers for vaccines. Vaccines are free and are put only at the request of every Bulgarian,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said and reminded that the vaccines are approved by the European Medicines Agency and the European Commission.

“The vaccine is the only thing that can get us out of the pandemic. With the great efforts of all our doctors and nurses, orderlies, lab workers, their personal example they set with vaccination.

This is the only chance that the civilized world sees right now — through vaccines to get out of this war”, Borissov said, while also focusing on the timely support of the government in the socio-economic sphere.

“We do everything we need to protect jobs, keep businesses”, Borissov added.

During the government meeting, Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov informed that the vaccination is going according to plan and 3844 people have already been vaccinated throughout the country.

“In all areas of the country an organization has been established for the vaccination of the medical personnel on the first line”, Minister Angelov said. The Ministry of Health will also launch an information campaign so that every Bulgarian citizen can be informed about the vaccination process.

The next shipment of vaccines is expected to arrive in Bulgaria at the beginning of next year, for which the necessary organization is established.
