Romanian airline carrier Tarom resumes international flights

Romanian national airline Tarom said it began on May 2nd a gradual resumption of international flights suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, reports in. “Gundul,” BTA quoted.
The first destination to which the airline will be able to fly again is Amsterdam, and flights to Athens, Paris, Frankfurt and Munich will be renewed a few days later.

The publication notes that last night the Romanian government approved bailouts for Tarom and the private low-cost airline Blue Air. The two companies had earlier requested 130 million euros in aid so they could overcome the effects of the coronavirus crisis.

"Tarom” interrupted its flights to a number of countries in late March and early April. Initially, flights to and from Italy, Spain, France and Germany were suspended and Austria, Belgium, Britain and the Netherlands were later added to the list.

All domestic flights of the airline were also suspended.
