Spanish minister: Speculation pushes up prices for medical products

In the global market for medical supplies needed to combat the coronavirus pandemic, such as safety masks and tests, there is great speculation, driving up prices. This was stated today by Spain's Foreign Minister Arancha González, quoted by Reuters.
The middlemen are speculating, as are the producers, she said in an interview with local radio. When there is more demand than supply, prices grow, as is happening now, the minister recalled.

González added that Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez would propose that partners in the EU and the G20 establish ways to share information and introduce common protocols to strengthen the fight against the pandemic, BTA reports.
