Turkey's tourism revenues amounted to $4.101 billion in the first quarter of the year. Of those, 80.6 percent were from foreign tourists and 19.4 percent from Turkish diaspora officials returning for a holiday to the country, BTA reported.
According to data, $3,565 billion of tourism revenues during the period considered came from tourists' personal expenses and $536,445 million from travel packages.
According to statistical calculations, the average cost of a tourist amounted to $727, with the average cost of foreigners amounting to $710 and of Turkish nationals arriving from abroad - $788.
Turkey's tourism revenues are significantly reduced
Turkey's tourism revenues in the first quarter of 2020 fell 11.4 percent from the same period the previous year because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Anadolu Agency reported, citing data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
