“The economic and labor crisis created by the pandemic could increase global unemployment by almost 25 million,” the International Labour Organization said in a new study quoted by BGNES.
She adds that an internationally coordinated response could “significantly reduce” that number.
“The COVID-19 pandemic will make millions of people unemployed and poor,” the U.N. said, warning that global workers will lose up to $3.4 billion in revenue this year alone.
