The focus of the conversation was the social and economic measures that the government took to support Bulgarian workers and businesses for the time of the introduced state of emergency because of the spread of COVID-19.
“We introduced important measures such as the so-called 60/40, we turned to support the sectors most affected by the coronavirus, we also support our extremely vulnerable citizens such as single parents and other non-income Bulgarians”, Prime Minister Borisov said during the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev and Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov.
In the course of the conversation, union leaders said the government's measures were working and were delivering results. “We continue with action to address the socio-economic consequences of COVID-19. And with your expert help I am convinced that we will find the right solutions for the Bulgarian people”, Prime Minister Borisov noted.
The Prime Minister added that the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy continues to work every day to open new tools to help groups in need, as well as to preserve employment and the income of workers.
