Vucic: I won't stop the economy because of COVID-19

There will be no shutdown of the economy, despite the sharp increase in the number of coronavirus infected in recent days, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Sunday, addressing citizens, TASS reported.
Today is one of the worst days, the number of infected will be between 600 and 700. In the coming days, the number of infected could exceed 800, 900 and 1000. (...) We cannot close the economy at this time, I am ready to take tough decisions, said the president of Serbia, BTA reports.

Vucic urged citizens to be conscious and cautious, reminding of the country's economic difficulties and large spending on health care.

According to the latest data from 24 October, the number of infected with the new coronavirus in Serbia has increased by 757, which has become a record since the outbreak began.
