With an outflow of Romanian tourists and few open hotels will welcome Easter in Sunny Beach this year. For the holidays will open no more than 5-6 hotel complexes, which will rely mainly on domestic tourists.
“The mood among the colleagues was quite low, but after the meeting with the Prime Minister in resignation during the week and the adopted changes regarding the entry of foreign tourists in the country, we are hopeful”, commented Veselin Nalbantov, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.
The news of recent days that when entering our country there will be an opportunity to use a certificate for vaccinated or positive PCR test done within 6 months, and that rapid and much cheaper antigen tests will be recognized, was welcomed in our largest seaside resort with relief.
However, there are representatives of the industry who believe that this news has come too late. According to them, the ambiguity of how to enter Bulgaria is the reason for hundreds of cancelled reservations from Romania for Easter.
“There are many Romanians who want to rest on our sea, but for them Bulgaria is in the red zone by number affected by COVID-19. This image needs to change, and at ministries level. We should not forget that in Sunny Beach and the region we have a combination of sun and unique ionization of air. The Bulgarian Black Sea coast should be advertised as a coronavirus zone, “Veselin Nalbantov is convinced.
In spite of the unknown around Season 2021, the biggest campsite on the Southern Black Sea coast — “Garden”, opens on May 1st and with serious reductions in overnight stays, a reporter's inspection found. Among the already booked bungalows for the holidays there were several requests from Romania.
“For the first time people from all over the country will be able to meet Easter and May holidays on the beach. Already on May 2, meteorologists predict the temperature to jump to 28 degrees, and in the last 10 days of the month, when they accumulate and a few days off, the weather is shaping up to be ideal for sea,” the campsite commented. Owners have driven down prices by 20 per cent for early bookings and double the number of luxury bungalows.
Guests for Easter are waiting in the cult camping “Dolphin” near Tsarevo. “We have reservations for bungalows and tents, we are working,” the campsite assured. The rest of the campsites south of Burgas will welcome the first tourists on June 1st. This year the owners promise enhanced safety measures — regular disinfection of bungalows, sanitary units, common washing areas and all enclosed spaces.
Because of the pandemic camping experienced its renaissance last summer and stood out as one of the most preferred options for sea holidays.
